Gotta Love the New Year Blues! Literally!

I said Blue literally!!!! :)

So are you hitting those new years eve parties??? Wondering what style to bring? Here is the low down!

* Get Glitzy!
----- It's new years eve and you have everyone to impress! Make sure you sparkle, hit up those silvers, metalics and shimmers - do not hold back!

** Colours for the evening: blues, purples, indigo, silver, white
----- These deep colours hug the shimmering silvers, lifting your complexion and making you glow. In the light of the fireworks you will be shimmering!

Makeup: You don't have to go cold! Pick out some warm purples! Brown eyed people get a little antsy about using blue shadows, so go to the purples, here are some great shades:::
Nars would be great for a purple-blue inbetweenie!

Hair: Loose locks, cute hair pins, bows and jeweled headbands.

Nails: As for those acrylics, try a blue to silver or clear fade, it will compliment your attire without being overly matched up. Alternatively simple french pink and whites with blue nail art and a few crystals to complete the look.

Crack out the CLUTCH!!! Yes it is the evening you have been waiting for to wear that fantastic clutch so go for it! Big or small it will be the perfect match to your new years eve vibe. Let it make a statement (and that means YES! It doesn't have to match!!!!)

Top right corner is mineeeee! :)

Where to draw the line: Accessories are very important but when going for the glam look one must be careful not to go OTT (over the top!) Drag is great but not what we are going for here! Look in the mirror and see if your overall look is balanced - from head to toe. The rule I use is "2-to-2": 2 Parts glam to 2 parts plain for example:
                   1:crazy glittering shoes - 2:plain skirt, 1:lots of layered necklaces - 2:simple hair style no headband.

Using this rule you will not go overboard but will maintain your partying glam style to its upmost!!!

Then if I haven't persuaded you enough with the fantastic colours of blue and purple there is always the Little Black Dress!!! But don't be so boring!!! Throw in some white, silver or other accessories to spice things up.

Love that grey dress!!!!!

Have a great time at your New Years Eve Party, show your style! Best Wishes for 2011, and Get Glitzy Gals!

My Colours for the Season!

Here is my low-down on the styles for the season!!!!!!!!!
Ok my colour obsession for the Fall/Winter is as follows:

* Heather/Lilac
* Burnt Orange
* Browns
* Beige
* Gold/Vintage Gold/Gold-leaf

I am particularly into scarves, boots, graphic tees with short jackets. Leather bomber jackets are my love for this season, particularly the sand coloured to deep browns.

As for boots, cream/beige or brown suede is my pick for the season (whether flat or with a small heel). Fortunately for women all around the world, black high heeled boots will always be flattering and in for cold weathers! :) So for an evening look Blacks, leathers, silvers and neutral - bright tones are all a GO-GO!

Accessories:
For daywear to compliment the Heather, Burnt Orange, Browns and Beige tones:
* Sling bag (Hobo, Indie, and crazy patterns!)
* Scarf  - Long, loose and unique
* Headbands ARE IN! Especially those with the flat flowers
* Overlaping long to short necklaces
* Belts! Thick, leather and vintage please! :)

As for hair, loose locks are in, waves or loose curls are perfect for this time of year, very soft and feminine. As for those of us who struggle to get the waves/curls (myself included) loose half up/half downs, and side braid/plait is a great alternative. Perhaps add in a small headscarf or unique headband.

Now for your evening look:
* Don't forget to wrap up - so get a great looking woolen coat (especially those with the big buttons -lovelove!)
* Take the scarf again, but this time make it glittery! Sequins are back from the 70's and they are shaking up Fall/Winter 2010!
* Don't be afraid to shine, shimmer is great so pick materials that will enhance your natural glow.
* Nude to neutral shades come alive if they have a shimmer, so be on the look out for them.
* Mini skirts are back - but I didn't say micro-mini (keep that in the 90's closet!) RaRa, to sequined, to satin - they are all back in full force. Just make sure you pair them with the right shoes, be careful pairing them with boots - there is a fine line between stylish and tacky!
* Don't forget the blazer - who said they were for private schools only? They are fantastic! So you have a plain boring black one lingering in your closet? Break it out, add some sequins, a broach, a skinny, sparkly scarf and voila! You have a stylish jacket to hit the nightlife with!
