Hello Kitty Noir Palette

Hello all! It has been a while but I am making it a priority to get back to my beauty stuff and YouTube channel.

I thought I would write my latest blog about my most recent buy - the Hello Kitty Noir eyeshadow and lipgloss palette. I have fallen in love with it but I am going to write a critical review here about it wih the intention of doing a YouTube video to follow soon (as soon as I find that camera!!!)

Ok so the positives: great color selection, not glittery but a fair mix of soft shimmers and matte colors, all capable of doubling for soft daytime or dramatic night look. The pigmentation it actually much better than I expected, the deeper colors cover well particularly the bright blue. The lighter colors do need more on for effect but nothing out of the ordinary. The design of the box is cute, it's actually a tin which surprised me as I thought it was a palette with a flip up lid but really it's muh like a cookie tin lol. I don't actually mind it though since it does help when I have all my makeup out and I am pushed for space. As for the lipglosses I cannot say yet as I haven't experimented and generally I don like lipglosses in my palettes, I just gets annoying when powder from the shadows gets in there and it all gets a bit gloopy! I would rather the glosses be replaced with more shadows but you don't get everything you want! Lol

Cons, well there really are no major ones, more like my personal preferences really, such as more shadows less glosses etc. I would have liked the eyeshadow brush and lip brush to be separated into two brushes rather than having a double ended brush, I understand it is compact for the packaging but I would make the trade because two brushes is just less messy in the long run.

One the price front $34 at Sephora isn't bad in my books but for those of you that bought this hot off the press the price was much steeper - poor you. But look on the bright side you still got a fantastic product.

Overall initial rating: 8.5/10
Cuteness rating 10/10 lol

Enjoy, Peace&Love xJx

My NYX Goodies are HERE! :)

I am so excited to share this with you! I told you about the February Nyx Sale on Hautelook.com and my order is in, I cannot wait to share my shopping experience with you.

When me and my friends used to go shopping when I was much younger, we would go and shop! shop! shop! Then when we got home (though we were exhausted!) we would get everything out of the bags and lay it around and play with our new goodies, whether it was nail polishes, clothes, pens, hair accessories - anything! It was like going to battle, winning and then admiring the booty you gained from the enemy (and in this case it is the original booty, though over time some items bought certainly did enhance the 'booty' lol)

So when watching this video, I hope you feel the same girly feeling, of sitting down with your friends and sharing in a great shopping moment :) From my home to yours, this is a girls day at the sales - lets share the spoils x

What I am wearing in this video:
For eyes I have the staple items: Urban Decay Primer Potion, Elf Liquid Liner, Maybeline Colossal Mascara, Nyx Jumbo Pencil milk (for waterline). I used shadows from my new Nyx palette, I light coral base, a deep copper tone for crease, a gold-copper over base to inner corner, then a matte skin tone to inner eye and glitter/shimmer pink for highlight.
For Lips: Nyx Nude liner, Maybeline Moisturizing Lipstick in Beige (though it looks nothing like a beige! llol)
Foundation: Bareminerals i.d in light and fairly light for contour, Lorac Tantalize Bronzer, and a light dust of a white shimmer eyeshadow Sephora's Aspen Summit for cheekbone highlight.

Drugstore vs. High End

One thing that I find very annoying about youtube guru's is their constant battle between those who use only high end products to those who only use drugstore. The fact is that everyone has a budget and no matter where yours lies you should be finding out about the products based on consumer opinions not on price.

I personally have an array of brands which I interchange, I didn't buy them all based on price, but I did try them and purchased on efficiency and quality.

So look out for my new video coming on high end vs. drugstore. I will be showing my latest loves and dislikes, hope it will help you with your purchases! :)

2011 NAIL SUPPLY HAUL!!!!!! YAY!

This is my first haul post, I will have a youtube video of this in the coming weeks, as well as the youtube slideshow of my new year nails, which I will link here to this blog!

So I will post this with pictures to start and explain prices and possible ideas I have for my new goodies! :)

Well my first package was from Hong Kong, so I put in the order in December but it always takes forever to receive and I paid extra for first class shipping and tracking.

First off is my new uv 9w lamp:
I got this for my uv sealer top coat, it was cheaper than the others on ebay etc., but I didn't need to buy an expensive OPI one since I am not using a gel system.
Naturally next was the uv sealer, I got 3 for about $7.00 but 2 broke in transit, so I'll be working on getting those replaced:

Tips! Not the ones that you get after a full set but the ones you need to stick on lol! I actually was a little disappointed with these as they came rounded and without a well, meaning I'll actually have to cut out a smile line or drill one in, which wastes more time, so I may just have to use these as spares and buy more. btw I got 500 in all 10 sizes.

Other tips! I just had to go all out and buy the crazy ones, I am a sucker for animal print so I got the zebra ones :) hoping to do something crazy with them, maybe some nail art and stuff! :) Also what I like about pre-printed tips is that if you want to speed up your sets you can just cover the whole nail with clear acrylic and the design part is already there, add some simple black, white or silver dots/lines/swirls and you are good to go. This can save a lot of time and afford, rather than cracking out the black and white acrylic and layers, and drilling the design out. So my zebras I got in 10 sizes and 70 count.
I got pearl white and as you can see there is no smile line - more work for me!!! grr!
Fun and Funky!!!!!!! Also they have a clear well and the black stripes overlap meaning the design  almost fades in. If the client wants a dramatic smile line rather than a fade I'd just drill out the clear to make a sharp smile.

Ok so next item up is the tip and art cases, I bought these super cheap at 30 cent for the small and 50 cent for the large. I got 3 small and 2 large.

Now for the fun stuff - Nail art and makeup!!!!!

*I got glitter hexagons in 12 colours! :) these are great for nail art and creating window effects on clear tips. Also I have a fav video on youtube, where this nail tech adds light pink ones to a regular pink and white set and it just looks fab! Gotta try that out.
**Also in the goodies I have dried flowers for that summer eau naturelle look!
*** Recently from a new supply store locally I got these glitter stars that I used in my new years nails, I got this large pot for only $5.00!!! What a steal!
**** Yes, Yes, another rhinestone wheel with 7 colours! :)

These are actually iridescent, they have pink and green tones which look so nice under acrylic!
Ok last but not least! FALSIESSSSSSSS :)

I couldn't resist, so I got 10 pairs, 5 full and 5 natural:

So this concludes my haul, I missed out a few items but when I do a vid I'll include them there (mainly regular supplies and sanitizing stuff).
Look out for new designs with these products!
Hope you enjoyed reading, check back soon! Get Glitzy Gals :)
Happy New Year, peace&love x

~HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!~
So these were my New Year Nails!!! I went to DisneyWorld Orlando for New Year Eve and this was what I took with me lol.

I went against all my new years colour suggestions to bring something alternative for the rebellious kind :)

What I used to complete the look:

* Green and Pink ultra fine glitter
** Iridescent/white stars
*** Shimmer pink acrylic
**** Nail monomer
***** Nail Primer and glue
****** Nail files, drill, sanitizer
******* Clear nail tips

I will post the slide show on youtube as soon as I get all the pictures loaded. It will have the step-by-step of how to create these fun and funky nails.

Get Glitzy Gals!!! :) peace&Love x
